You will arrive at our place the house after a 20 minute drive from Lanjaron, the nearest village, by a 7 km track, half of which is paved while the other half is dirt. Its bumpy and often dusty. You don't really need a 4X4 but a Fiat 500 would struggle to make it. Getting up here by car is already quite a journey on itself, and it is also what makes this part of the Alpujarras so special and desirable. Even though you are only 50 kilometers from the nearest beach or from the city of Granada, you will feel far away from civilisation.
The house is an old renovated mountain farmhouse, about 1000 metres high in the Sierra Nevada. It is off-grid, powered by solar electricity and its water supply from an irrigation system (acequia) dating back to Roman times. It is heated by wood-burning stoves.
The land is wide, offering all the space to walk, do yoga, meditate, swim, dream...
From our region, you have access to the many famous hikes of the Alpujarras. Whether you are a Sunday walker or an experienced hiker, along our acequia or up to the top of the Mulhacen, there are so many paths for you to take and to explore the sublime Sierra Nevada.
THE ROOMS
The Moorish inspired design blends organically with the surrounding land and provides a sense of coziness and safety. A courtyard, roof deck and little nooks and corners offer a space for relaxation, comfort and contemplation. Shared and single bedrooms for couples and individuals are available. The residence features multiple bathrooms and showers both inside and out in nature.
