From the slums of Mumbai to the mountains of the Sierra Nevada.
Twelve years ago, Walter, Reinhilde, and Valerie met while working in the slums of Mumbai, where Walter led the non-profit clinic Barefoot Acupuncturist. All three trained as practitioners of Chinese medicine, each followed their own professional path.
Now, they come together again in the mountains to guide you through this Mountain Detox journey.
Reinhilde Terryn, has a deep passion for the holistic functioning of body and mind through the lens of Chinese medicine. With knowledge, experience, and intuition, she helps you restore balance in a grounded and attentive way. Her focus, dedication and warm presence create a safe and supportive framework throughout the detox process.
Originally trained as a nurse, she combines medical understanding with many years of experience guiding people through detox journeys.
For Reinhilde, healing and health unfold on multiple levels — which is why she personally undertakes a detox process every six months.
She currently leads a successful Chinese medicine clinic in Brussels. more
Walter Fischer, as an experienced faster himself, understands the physiological and emotional phases of the process and guides you through each stage with calm, clarity, and reassurance. His approach combines structured guidance with a steady and grounded presence. During the retreat, he leads meditation sessions and invites you to explore the mountains he knows and loves so well, creating space for reflection, movement, and inner quiet.
Together with his partner Béa Brezina, he is your host throughout the retreat. As the creators and caretakers of the residence and surrounding land where the detox takes place, they welcome you into a space shaped with care, intention, and deep respect for nature. More…
Valerie Boisson brings a warm en attentive presence to the Mountain Detox. During the retreat, she will provide massages that help release tension, encourage circulation, and invite deep relaxation throughout the process.
